No Need for Borders.

And some pictures of the gorgeous designer Sabrina Tachdjian.
On our road trip back up the coast we made a mandatory stop-over in Terrigal to visit dear friends and kindred spririts Nathan & Eliza Oldfield (Look & See blog), and their gorgeous brood of darling children).
While Johnny and Nathan were man-bonding, Eliza was telling me of the wonderful women she met on their recent family holiday to the Basque region in Spain. One of the many creative souls she met was the lovely Sabrina Tachdjian of Sabrina Tach Leather Bags from Uruguay.
Isn’t it funny – how borders don’t seem relevant anymore? Our Australian friends met a Uruguayan designer in Spain, and now I’m sharing her label with you, and it can be bought and shipped anywhere around the world??! We’re all gypsies aren’t we!
I emailed Sabrina and asked her a few questions about her label:
Tell me about your label Sabrina Tach?
Sabrina Tach was created 3 years ago while i was working as a designer for a denim brand , I used to go to the tanneries to buy leather. That way i discovered the huge variety of leather that my country had to offer. It is hard to find fabrics and supplies in Uruguay, so as an independent designer it can be very frustrating. So i i took advantage of this opportunity and started designing things with leather at the same time. It allowed me to create things that i loved, independently.

You’re from Uruguay, do you get your inspiration from home or from afar?
I love to travel and when i am Uruguay, in Montevideo where I am from, I’m not in the city, I’m on the beach in a fishing town near Brazil where there are many travellers. I also spend a lot of time in the basque country where my boyfriend lives – I get a lot of inspiration from there also.
Can you send us a picture of your all time favorite handbag?
My favorite is the Belar backpack.
