When Planet Blue sent us their 2014 Festival Look book a few thoughts ran through my frazzled little head. ‘Where’s my backstage Coachella ticket?!’ was one, hehe… but really I just thought back to my festival heydays.
When what you wore to a festival was as important as the music itself. Not in a ‘poser’ way, but because what you wear to a festival is part of the whole Escaping from Reality experience. I used to wear outfits I’d have NEVER worn out normally… fringe on fringe, turquoise on turquoise, flow on flow… And the best part, you have to give-in and sacrifice every festival outfit to the festival-gods… you know that each outfit may not make it out alive… it may return home covered in mud and sweat and bindies, ripped to shreds, or may get left at some random camp-sight and never heard from again…
I love how much the US embrace festival season. We’re just lucky we get to play along with wonderful Fall and Winter festivals like Blues Fest and Splendour round the corner (and literally on our doorstep here in Byron).
Loving this look book btw! Love the tie dyed silk frills and tribal flourishes… Keep it com’n Planet Blue… We’ll just have to pair it all with a pair of welly’s and one of our Ponchos.
this is so cute!! can’t wait for coachella!

Stunning, the colors are a dreamy world.
I really enjoyed the photos, and I have been following your blog for a long time, but this poor girl, she is not a normal skinny…this is so disturbing for me…I just feel pain watching her…
I didnt even notice, I always just look at the clothes though hehe – but you’re right is she is very very slim…x lizzy
Exactly what I thought! She looks emaciated, and so sad. It really bothers me that the model herself is being looked past, in favor of the lighting, the threads, the overall “feel” in the photos. If the model herself isn’t even being noticed, why use her? I love Spell, but lately I’ve been seeing way too many sad-looking, extremely skinny girls. Don’t be a part of the problem, Spell, be a part of the solution.
incredible shots. love that wild and relaxed atmosphere
