Guest Blogger: Little Navajo
10.06.2011
Spell and I loved Julia’s free spirited photo shoot for it’s simplicity and movement (and who can say no to a herd of wild horses?!) I emailed Julia this afternoon and asked her to tell us a bit about her blog and the shoot –
Tell us about the essence of your blog?
Little Navajo is a space for me to be creatively free and document my adventures. I really love photography, and I now have a great excuse to do photo shoots!
Tell us about this photo shoot?
Entitled ‘Time Runs Away Like Wild Horses’ these shots emulate that stand still feeling of freedom and happiness when you are in your own version of Neverland.
My Mum breeds showjumping horses, and we literally have paddocks of them. This pack is especially wild – we had to run in the opposite direction a few times! They were the inspiration for the shoot – they are young, wild and free.
What do you love about blogging?
The passionate and supportive people that you meet through blogging would have to be one of my favourite parts. I also love the inspiration that you get from other bloggers, it’s such a great community of visual information – so for a creative person like me it’s exciting!
Describe your personal style?
My personal style has never really changed. The best way to describe it is a mixture of vintage with more expensive pieces that I have accumulated over the years. I love accessorising with my poison rings, tooled handbags, vintage Minnetonkas and head pieces…. And I love to steal t-shirts from my boyfriend! I like finding things that other people don’t have, so I generally shop at markets or on ebay.
Who’s your style hero?
I LOVE Margherita Missoni’s style – she has so many pieces that are so beautiful and unique. It’s really hard to pick one style hero – but in terms of colour, variety and general loveliness she wins!…

Thank you to all the incredible entries, we were completely blown away by the quality of the photographs! We discovered so many new blogs and look forward to following them all!
We actually had a really hard time choosing between a few of them, which is why I’m going to write to two other entrants and ask if I can publish their photos as runners up.
We’ll be sending Julia $200 worth of Spell credit to shop here.
The winner of the $50 online shopping voucher is Alicia from Gypsy Boots.
xx Big hugs Lizzy + Spelly
