DIY ~ Gift Card

DIY Gift Card takeover with our Events Assistant Orchid

There never needs to be a special occasion to gift a loved one a card, and what better way to do this than to get crafty and create one yourself!

What you will need for this DIY:

– Card (colour of your choice, I prefer a white base so I can add colour after if I want)
– Old magazines
– Water colours (not needed if you don’t have to hand)
– Scissors (tearing works too!)
– Glue stick

Step 1: It’s time to sit and relax and look through all those old magazines that are collecting dust! Tear out your favourite images, cut out lots of random letters/words (I found it easier to use scissors for the letters) and tear long pieces of pretty backgrounds to layer your images/letters on top.

Step 2: Cut your card into smaller rectangles that can be folded in half to create your card.

Step 3: Think about the person you are making the card for and let your creation flow! Now time to start sticking! Start with the base, this could be strips of torn out pretty patterns or maybe you want to water colour your card first.

Step 4: Once you have your base creation, now start sticking on words that will make someone smile or laugh! Images that remind you of them, or quotes you both love! You can even stick your cut outs inside the card!

Step 5: VOILA! You have created your very own up-cycled card!

P.S. don’t throw away your magazine cut outs, get a box and save everything in there for the next card you want to make for that special someone!
