San Francisco was the first city I visited in my 20’s. I wondered for hours (literally eight!) through the vintage stores on Haight, breathing in the dusty, musty vintage air. I brought Spelly back there with me a few years later and we felt like we were home. Our obsession with the iconography of the American hippy movement, and of course, vintage shopping made this strip our mecca. And today, the psychedelic, hippy vibes and the colourful culture of this city worked a dream as the backdrop for Celestial.
Our muse, Staz was someone we have been following foreverrr for some reason I just imagined her as the daughter of some old rocker, she just has that vibe (turns out she actually is!). We’d looked to the daughters of legendary rockers for inspiration when designing this range… cue Liv Tyler, Frances Bean Kobain, Georgia May Jagger.. the way they embody this kind of super modern style but always infuse it with a sweet nostalgia, we wanted to play with that idea in this collection. Staz turned out to be a total and utter sweety, and we had the best day tripping around this gorgeous city with her!
With this collection, we wanted to capture that feeling when you put a record on, you hear that skritchy-scratchy sound – then the music kicks in and you’re transported, through the milky way to another world, another time and a memory lane you may have only dreamed of… that is Celestial.

Honestly, I miss the older Spell designs. Now it just gone weird for me, both with pattern and styles. How is this flattering at all? I miss the good old boho vibes, now it’s just too much with the patterns and the ruffles and what not.
Hun, all artists evolve in some way and can’t stick to what they do or they wouldn’t be original, You don’t need to like it but now you’re just criticising. You don’t think it’s flattering? Have you seen any of of the Spelly girls (not the Spell team but customers) rocking it because they are looking hot!

I TOO FEEL THAT SPELL HAS LOST ITS WAY AND AGREE THAT IT HAS JUST GONE WEIRD, IN PATTERNS AND STYLES. THESE STYLES ARE JUST NOT FLATTERING AT ALL AND I ALSO MISS THE GOOD OLD BOHO VIBES AND IT IS TOO MUCH WITH THE PATTERNS AND THE RUFFLES AND WHAT NOT!!!!!!!!!!!

ALSO, THIS COLLECTION IS A SMALLER MAKE, AND I FEEL THAT SPELL ARE JUST NOT LISTENING TO THEIR MANY CUSTOMERS WHO ARE ALWAYS ASKING FOR BIGGER SIZING.
THEY ARE JUST CATERING TO THE TALL SKINNY DEMOGRAPHIC, WHICH WE KNOW IS WRONG ON ALL LEVELS.
COME ON SPELL…. LIFT YOUR GAME, AS YOU WILL LOSE ALL THOSE LONG TIME CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE HELPED BUILD YOUR BUSINESS TO WHAT IT IS TODAY!!!!!

I kinda like the celestial city lights gown in indigo….but yea I agree. It’s the first style I’ve even been on the fence of liking, not loving, in a long while…since lovebird☹ not a fan of all the ruffles spell. Miss the older Spell too…
What a stunning location!!!! It’s what my bohemian dreams are made of. I’m in love with the sweet vibes of this collection and LOVE the auburn paisley pieces. Be still my ❤️! What amazing flow the style and collection roll together to tell a tale. Such a great job!

I love this collection! I wish you would make the city lights gown in more colorways. There are so many pretty colors in this drop to at least make 1 more color in such a beautiful style dress. I love the indigo color but it would be nice to have it in the auburn or cream combo colorway! Love the Hippie Rock Vibe!!! So Full of Fun!
